Students & 20s

Welcome to the best city in the world.

If you're new to Birmingham, new to church, or new to us, we know COVID-19 has the potential to make that a pretty strange experience.
We want to do all we can to help you find a home here.

The majority of our students are part of Churchcentral South in Selly Oak / Edgbaston.

Sundays: Gather online or in person

Join us on Sunday mornings either at 10am in person at Central House (booking essential) or via our online service at 10.30am.
Plus our key Students & 20s connection point is our Sunday Coffee Time. Join us on Zoom at 11.30am to spend time with other students, build community and support one another.

ways to connect

Connect with other students

Most of our students go to Churchcentral South.
As well as our online gatherings with our wider CC South family, we gather together in student groups to help you meet other students & 20s and grow in your faith together.

Connect with the wider church family

Every student in Churchcentral is given the chance to connect with the wider church family through our 'Adopt A Student' scheme, providing that bit of support, friendship and home-cooked food while you're here. There's also an opportunity to join one of our community groups - find out more using the link below.

Connect and explore faith

We love meeting people of all different beliefs and in all different stages of their faith journey.
One way of exploring is through a short course called Alpha. It's for anyone who wants to look at big questions of life and faith.

To connect in any of these ways, simply use the form below.

More about us...

Sunday mornings.

The majority of our students are part of Churchcentral South in Edgbaston.
On Sundays we usually meet in a school just over the road from the University of Birmingham Guild of Students. Due to COVID-19, right now we have an hour-long Sunday morning service streamed on YouTube, Facebook and this website at 10.30am, and we're using Zoom for prayer meetings and midweek small groups.

International student?

Are you studying in Birmingham but from another country? We can't wait to welcome you. Churchcentral South has people from over 25 different nations, and a regular international Life Group where we explore Jesus with friends from around the world, and loads of food. If English is your second language, we also provide printed notes  during the talks.

Play your part. Be stretched. Grow.

Muck in

Put down roots

We encourage students not to be spectators but to get stuck in and help make Churchcentral all it can be. Students are on loads of our teams helping with welcoming, leading worship and our youth, kids and tots work. Come and grow by mucking in.
Many students have also put down roots and stuck around. Many years on from their Uni days, they now call Birmingham and Churchcentral home and have gone on to lead or play active roles within our church. Might you be one of them?

Students & 20s Weekend Away

Once a year we get out of the city for a weekend of going deeper with God and one another. These are times of fun, food, and every year friendships deepen and God works in us.

Due to current restrictions this year we'll be having a Student & 20s Weekend At Home instead on the 26th-28th March with online games, worship, talks, seminars and more!
Let us know you're coming using the button below!

Our student team is headed up by Tom & Emma.
Both were students here in Birmingham and they have been part of the church ever since.
Look out for them at Churchcentral South.
