Students & 20s

Students & 20s Weekend Away
2nd-4th February 2024

Our Student & 20s weekend away is a key connection point in the year! If you've been before, you'll know what a special weekend this is. Time to meet with God in powerful ways, hear from God's word, learn from one another and of course have lots of fun together!

Location: We'll be going to the Rock UK Frontier Centre which is in Northamptonshire. A beautiful space to meet together in the countryside.

Transport: The coach will leave from North Gate, Uni of Birmingham at 6pm on Friday 2nd Feb and then arrive back at around 4.30pm on Sunday 4th. You can let us know on the form whether you would like to be booked onto the coach or whether you'd like to drive yourself.

Food: All food is provided including Friday evening. When you book your ticket, the form will ask for your dietary requirements

Finances: The Weekend is £82 for the early-bird rate (booking before end of 2023). It's £105 from January 1st. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns or need help with finances. We want everyone who wants to come to be able to without any barriers.

Welcome to the best city in the world.

And welcome to our Students & 20s community!
We’re committed to welcoming and caring for you.
More than that, we have a longing to see Jesus the most talked-about person in this part of the city.
We want to release you to play your part in that on campus.
Take a look around and get involved...

Ways to get involved

Most of our students are part of Churchcentral South.
As well as our gatherings with our wider CC South family, there's a load of other ways you can connect in.
Check out the images for our Autumn timetable, or save the file here.

Alpha

A place to explore faith and God, whatever your starting point.

Breathe

Extended space on a Sunday evening to be with God, worshipping & listening to Him together.

Community Groups

Smaller groups to build a sense of family together and go deeper with Jesus. We’ll eat, build relationship and engage with God. We have student groups, or you can choose from our wider church Community Groups and get stuck in that way.

Central

Monthly gatherings to connect with one another and God. We’ll worship together and explore teaching from the Bible.

More about us...

Sunday mornings.

The majority of our students are part of Churchcentral South in Edgbaston.
On Sundays we usually meet in a school just over the road from the University of Birmingham Guild of Students.

International student?

Are you studying in Birmingham but from another country? We can't wait to welcome you. Churchcentral South has members from a range of nations. If English is your second language, we also provide printed notes  during the talks. Speak to our Welcome Team to access those.

Teaching topics & values

Over your time as a student in Churchcentral South, we want to help you go deeper in a whole load of themes that we see as crucial to the Christian life.
We also have a few values around how we want our community to be.
Check out the images below or download a pdf here.

Play your part. Be stretched. Grow.

Muck in

Put down roots

We encourage students not to be spectators but to get stuck in and help make Churchcentral all it can be. Students are on loads of our teams helping with welcoming, leading worship and our youth, kids and tots work. Come and grow by mucking in.
Many students have also put down roots and stuck around. Many years on from their Uni days, they now call Birmingham and Churchcentral home and have gone on to lead or play active roles within our church. Might you be one of them?

Our Student Workers

Tom & Emma Parkin

Our student team is headed up by Tom & Emma.
Both were students here in Birmingham and they have been part of the church ever since.
Look out for them at Churchcentral South.
